'It's up to them' - Viktor Gyokeres breaks silence on future amid Everton transfer links

Everton-linked striker Viktor Gyokeres has urged Coventry City to think about what he wants this summer if negotiations begin over his sale.

The Sweden international had a fantastic season with Coventry as they reached the play-off final in the Championship. Gyokeres scored 22 times and registered 12 assists in 50 games.

Gyokeres has been linked with a move out of the Championship with Sean Dyche said to be keen on bringing him to Everton. But if that proves to be the true, the Blues boss faces fierce competition for the 25-year-old, with Wolverhampton Wanderers and Sporting CP said to be keen.

Gyokeres has kept quiet about his situation - until now. “There are a number of clubs that are interested," Gyokeres told Swedish outlet Expressen.

"I guess Coventry want what they want. I hope they can think about what I want, and what I feel, and not just about who pays the most.

“I don’t have an exact grasp of that part, but we have talked a little about it. I could have gone last winter but chose to stay, and felt that they wanted to keep me for the whole season. I hope we can cooperate now that the season is over.

“You can ask the clubs if they feel it is too high. It’s up to them. I only have one year left on my contract, but considering that, that’s quite a lot.”
