'It's been coming' - pundit all over Swansea City's 'complete performance' but Hull City leave panel worried

Swansea City's hammering of Hull City had been coming and was a "pretty complete performance" believes EFL pundit Sam Parkin.

Russell Martin's side have been on the receiving end of some frustrating results of late, not least the 1-0 defeat to against Sheffield United in midweek which saw them concede yet another injury-time goal.

That, coupled with games against Oxford United, Millwall and Stoke City had left a sour taste in the mouth, especially the match against the Blades in which they competed so well for 90 minutes.

But against the Tigers Swansea got what they deserved for an all-round display which left pundits Parkin and Dean Ashton impressed with what they saw.

Goals from Ryan Manning, Luke Cundle and Joel Piroe saw off the visitors, who were guilty of shooting themselves in the foot for arguably all three strikes.

The win prompted delighted scenes at the full-time whistle, with Martin's grin apparent after all three goals too. Parkin hammered home the importance of the result.

Parkin said on the ITV highlights show: "It was a big win, you could see the relief at full time, it's just their second win in seven.

"I think it felt like it's been coming, the performances haven't been particularly bad. And Joel Piroe for one, he's going to start scoring.

"He's had the most shots in the division by a country mile. Another six attempts today. He peppered the crossbar in the first half.

"It was a pretty complete performance. Ryan Manning getting in at the far post, there were some really good things to like about Swansea today in comparison to some recent games."

In contrast, the Tigers were pretty woeful but credit must go to Swansea for making them look second best in virtually all parts of the pitch. Ashton says the passiveness from the away side left him surprised, especially with the amount of space afforded to the hosts all afternoon at the Swansea.com Stadium.

He said: "When it came to Piroe hitting the crossbar first of all, how often with every pass has a Swansea player got lots of space?

"They (Hull) were so slow to engage, I'm talking about the front six mainly before you've even got to their defence. They were so passive, it just surprised me.

"And then this led to mistakes, (Tobias) Figueiredo diving thinking he's been tackled by a Swansea player when it's his own goalkeeper and he makes another mistake.

"But it was just... I think it would be worrying to watch if you were a Hull fan."
