It’s officially been a decade since Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries famously tied the knot — only for the couple to file for divorce just 72 days later.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star and the former NBA player began their whirlwind romance back in late 2010 after Humphries’ teammate, Jordan Farmar, introduced the two in New York. Much like their eventual divorce, their relationship was fast and swift.

The two seemingly fell head over heels for each other and the following year Humphries popped the question in May 2011. Only four months later, the KKW beauty founder and basketball player exchanged vows in Montecito, California. As we know, the newlyweds soon after made headlines just 72 days after their televised wedding when news dropped that Kardashian had filed for divorce. Humphries filed his response to Kardashian's divorce filing with a request for an annulment citing fraud.

This caused a frenzy online and subsequently left many wondering whether or not their wedding was a publicity stunt. While we know what Kardashian has been up to in the decade since then, we’re taking a look at what Humphries’ life has been like in the last 10 years and where he is now.

Like any breakup, Humphries’ split from Kardashian had its difficulties. Nowadays, Humphries is retired from the NBA, but it’s clear the fallout of his and Kardashian’s divorce played a major role in that decision. During his relationship with the reality TV star, Humphries played for the New Jersey Nets. Things quickly took a turn for Humphries, however, when his divorce with Kardashian went public. The pro basketball player was mocked and booed on the court, and it became obvious he would not be able to separate his personal life from his career.

After a three-year run with his New Jersey team, Humphries went on to play for the Boston Celtics in 2013 for a year before shuffling around a myriad of NBA teams in the years that followed. In 2019, he revealed just how badly his mental health had been affected in an essay for The Players’ Tribune.

“I should have known what I was getting into. I was definitely naïve about how much my life was going to change. But the one thing that really bothers me is whenever people say that my marriage was fake,” he wrote before stating that his relationship with Kardashian was “100% real.”

Humphries continued, “I’ll be honest, I dealt with a lot of anxiety, especially in crowds. There was about a year where I was in a dark place. I didn’t want to leave my home.”

Since leaving behind his basketball days, Humphries has lived a much simpler, quiet life. The 36-year-old became the first franchise partner for Crisp & Green and opened up many Five Guys restaurants in Minnesota and Wisconsin. He also became a real estate agent. As for his love life, Humphries was spotted earlier this year getting cozy with model Neyleen Ashley.

It’s safe to say that Humphries is more than happy to be out of the spotlight, and both he and Kardashian have moved on from their time together.
