Jurgen Klopp has admitted he could one day become the Germany national team manager but only when the time is right.
The Liverpool boss has continued to be linked with this role in recent years, coinciding with a run of disappointing displays at major tournaments for Die Mannschaft. After winning the 2014 World Cup, Germany exited at the group stage of the 2018 and 2022 tournament and were knocked out of Euro 2020 in the Round of 16 by England.
Speculation over his long-term future on Merseyside was ended back in April after penning a contract extension to remain at Anfield until 2026, much to the delight of Reds supporters.

Current Germany boss Hansi Flick is expected to remain in charge for Euro 2024 despite an underwhelming World Cup in Qatar, which saw Spain and Japan finish ahead of them in Group E, but an opportunity could arise for the 2025 World Cup for a new individual to take the reigns.
Discussing the possibility of taking charge, Klopp told Bild : "It's not completely out of the question that I'll be the national coach at some point. But it has to fit. And so far it hasn't. And if I end the contract in Liverpool, then nothing will definitely be done for a year."
The Liverpool manager's representative, Marc Kosicke, last month sent a short statement to Sky Germany dismissing any talk of the national team luring Klopp away from Anfield. "This is a media topic," Kosicke said . "Jurgen has a contract until 2026 and he intends to fulfil it."
Speaking in early November, Klopp's agent said: "I can assure [you] that Jurgen Klopp has no intention of resigning from Liverpool FC. The fact that problems could arise this season due to the past intensive season was taken into account by the club's owners before the start of the season.
"Jurgen enjoys the backing of the people in charge and is in regular contact with them. He loves the club, his team and the fans and is determined to continue and successfully complete the transition in Liverpool. He didn't extend his contract until 2026 for nothing."
