Ianis Hagi and Romania endured a difficult start to their 2026 World Cup qualification campaign on Friday evening.
Mircea Lucescu's side hosted Bosnia and Herzegovina in Bucuresti but were beaten 1-0 thanks to a first-half strike from Armin Gigovic.
Rangers' Hagi was introduced as a halftime substitute, taking the place of Florin Tanase.
Despite having the majority of the ball, shots, and shots on target, Romania faltered to a defeat.

They even had a second-half penalty shout waved away. Hagi whipped a teasing delivery into the box, and it looked to have struck Benjamin Tahirovic's right arm as he tried to make a clearance.
The 26-year-old claimed tor a spot-kick, although, despite a VAR review, nothing was given by referee Danny Makkelie.
"They [Bosnia and Herzegovina] had one chance, they scored, we had seven, we didn't score, that's the result," Hagi told AntenaSport (via Record).
"Any team that has an away advantage does anything, within the limits of fair play, and if we were at their place, we would do the same. My opinion is that they should leave that 50-50, as they leave it at their place, they should leave it at our place too.
"In the second half, we were more aggressive, we won our duels, but still it didn't allow us to always win our duels, it doesn't seem fair to me. Overall, as I said, we had seven chances and we didn't score.
"I don't know (if it was a penalty), I didn't see the action on the pitch.
"The people on the other side said it was a penalty.
"It was seen on VAR, it wasn't given, I have to look into it."
Romania will look to get their first points on the board tomorrow evening when they travel to face minnows San Marino.
