Punters at the Ataturk Stadium were left briefly panicking when black smoke from a nearby fire engulfed the arena in the hours lead up to kick off in the Champions League final.
Man City and Inter fans were already taking their seats around 8pm local time - two hours before kick-off - when thick black smoke became visible in the air above the stadium. It was visible behind the punditry team as Jake Humphries led the pre-match build-up alongside the likes of Rio Ferdinand, Mario Balotelli, Cesc Fabregas and Joleon Lescott.
News reports quickly indicated the source of the smoke was a factory fire just two miles away from the iconic arena where City go in pursuit of a Treble in Istanbul. And fans were left concerned as they approached the stadium only to see thick, visible smoke above it which still hadn't fully cleared an hour after it was first spotted on social media.
