Two people were killed and 15 others were injured in Beirut's southern suburbs, specifically in Dahiyeh, as a result of Israeli warplanes striking a building on Thursday afternoon, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health. Among the injured is a woman in critical condition.
The strike took place in Haret Hreik, a densely populated area with a significant Hezbollah presence. Israel has been conducting numerous airstrikes in various parts of Lebanon as tensions with Hezbollah continue to rise.
Israel's military has declared its intention to escalate its offensive operations against Hezbollah, with no plans for a ceasefire. In preparation for potential ground combat in Lebanon, Israeli troops recently conducted exercises. The military has not ruled out the possibility of engaging in such combat.
As a result of the ongoing attacks, thousands of Lebanese citizens have been forced to flee their homes to seek safety from the intense airstrikes.
