Lebanese media have reported Israeli strikes in a wide area of southern and eastern Lebanon on Saturday. The state news agency NNA indicated that the areas bombarded included locations near Jezzine, south of the city of Sidon, and the western Beqaa valley.
According to NNA, Israeli warplanes conducted intense airstrikes in multiple rounds, targeting various areas such as the valley between the towns of Ansar and Zrarieh, a valley close to Zefta, and an area near Deir al-Zahrani. The airstrikes resulted in loud explosions and thick clouds of smoke over towns in the Nabatieh and Iqlim al-Tuffah regions.
The strikes also led to forest fires, which civil defense teams were working to extinguish. The Israel Defense Forces have not issued any statement regarding the strikes in Lebanon on Saturday. However, the Israeli Fire and Rescue Authority reported that fires had broken out in the Safed area and Beit Hillel in northern Lebanon following rocket fire from Lebanon.
Hezbollah claimed responsibility for firing multiple barrages into Israel on Saturday, including targeting the Israeli military's Beit Hillel barracks with Katyusha rockets.
