Recent Israeli airstrikes in Gaza have resulted in a significant loss of life, with at least 31 Palestinians killed overnight Monday and into Tuesday, according to local officials. The strikes targeted various areas across Gaza, causing devastation and casualties.
In the southern city of Khan Younis, 12 individuals, including women and children, lost their lives when an airstrike demolished a residential building in the Al-Manara neighborhood. The Gaza European Hospital reported dozens of injuries from this tragic incident.
Central Gaza also witnessed the impact of Israeli helicopter airstrikes, resulting in the deaths of eight individuals, including four children, in the Deir Al-Balah area. Multiple people suffered severe burns as a result of these attacks, as confirmed by the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital.
Additional casualties were reported in Gaza City, where five people were killed and several others injured in separate attacks. One woman lost her life, and five individuals were wounded when an airstrike targeted a building on Al-Wehda Street. Furthermore, four children tragically perished in another airstrike on a house in the eastern part of Gaza City.
Tragically, journalist Mohammad Bashir Al-Tolmes, working for the Palestinian Press Agency, Safa, succumbed to injuries sustained during an airstrike in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood. These recent killings follow weeks of intense Israeli strikes in the Palestinian territory.
On Monday alone, Israeli airstrikes claimed the lives of at least 45 individuals, with women and children among the casualties. Dr. Fadel Naim from Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza City highlighted the overwhelming situation, stating that the hospital lacked sufficient supplies to treat the wounded.
The ongoing violence in Gaza continues to exact a heavy toll on civilians, underscoring the urgent need for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
