On Tuesday, two separate Israeli strikes in southern and northeastern Lebanon resulted in a tragic loss of life and numerous injuries. The country's health ministry reported that a strike in the Maali district of the northeastern city of Hermel claimed the lives of five individuals and left 10 others wounded. Additionally, another strike in the Kassar al Zaater district of the southern Lebanese city of Nabatiyeh resulted in the deaths of at least five people and injuries to 21 more.
Prior to the health ministry's report, the Lebanese Red Cross had announced that three of its paramedics were injured during a rescue operation in Nabatiyeh. The aid group had been actively engaged in rescue efforts in the area following the strike and had coordinated with UNIFIL to access the site. Unfortunately, during the search and rescue operations, the site was targeted once again, leading to injuries for the three paramedics who were subsequently transported to the hospital for treatment of shrapnel wounds.
