An Israeli woman, who was kidnapped by Hamas militants while wearing her pajamas, has been released after 15 months in captivity. The woman, along with four other Israeli female soldiers, was handed over by Hamas last Saturday. Upon her release, she was seen dressed in green fatigues, a stark contrast to her initial attire.
The woman, identified as Agam Berger, was brought out into public view in a square in Jabalya on Thursday morning. Surrounded by militants with covered faces and rifles in hand, she was accompanied by cameras documenting her release. A small crowd had gathered in front of a backdrop of destroyed buildings, although the turnout was reportedly lower than expected.
As Berger walked through the square, bunting displaying the Palestinian flag adorned the area, while some onlookers waved flags of their own. Despite the tense atmosphere, Berger managed to wave to the crowd before being handed over to members of the Red Cross for further assistance.
