An Israeli soldier, Sgt. Maj. Mohammad Alatrash, aged 39, was tragically killed on October 7 during an attack. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that his body is currently being held by Hamas.
This incident has added to the grim toll of hostages believed to have lost their lives on October 7, with the number now standing at 42. Previously, on June 8, the Israeli prime minister's office had reported that at least 41 hostages from the same attack were feared dead, with their remains being held in the Gaza Strip.
The Hostages and Missing Families forum expressed their sorrow over the loss of Sgt. Maj. Alatrash in a statement. They pledged to support his family during this difficult time until his body is repatriated to Israel.
