The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported on Saturday that security forces had killed 10 individuals described as 'terrorists' during an ongoing operation in Nur al-Shams, a refugee camp located in Tulkarm in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.

According to the IDF statement, the operation involved extensive counterterrorism activities in the area, resulting in the elimination of the 10 individuals, the apprehension of eight wanted suspects, the discovery of explosive devices and routes, and thorough searches of various structures.

Furthermore, security forces uncovered and destroyed a terrorist explosives laboratory, seized multiple weapons such as pistols, M16 rifles, and other military equipment. The IDF also reported that eight soldiers and one Border Force officer sustained injuries during the operation.

On the Palestinian side, reports indicated that five individuals, including a child and a 16-year-old, were killed during the Israeli operation in Nur al-Shams. Witnesses cited by the official Palestinian news agency claimed that the Israeli military was withholding the bodies of the victims and obstructing ambulance crews from reaching them.

Additionally, bulldozers were said to have destroyed water and wastewater networks, leading to electricity outages in the area. The official Palestinian news agency also reported that 'dozens of youths' were detained as part of the operation.

This recent operation in Nur al-Shams is considered one of the largest in the West Bank since October 7, underscoring the ongoing tensions and conflicts in the region.
