Reports from a Lebanese security source indicated that Hezbollah had lost contact with Hashem Safieddine following an Israeli strike in Beirut's southern suburbs targeting him. Safieddine was believed to be a potential successor to the Hezbollah leadership.
In a direct address to the people of Lebanon, Netanyahu urged them to resist Hezbollah's influence and reclaim their nation. He emphasized the need for unity among all religious groups in Lebanon to stand against Hezbollah's actions, which he described as causing suffering and conflict.
Netanyahu warned of the consequences of allowing Hezbollah to continue its activities, citing the ongoing conflict between Israel and the militant group. He urged the Lebanese population to prevent Lebanon from descending into further chaos and destruction similar to the situation in Gaza.
According to the Lebanese health ministry, Israel's military actions against Hezbollah have resulted in the deaths of over 1,400 individuals in Lebanon. The escalating violence has also led to the displacement of more than 1.2 million people in the region.
