Dozens of families in northern Gaza have been forced to flee their homes once again following a warning from the Israeli military of a potential ground operation against Hamas in the Jabalya area. Residents were seen packing up their belongings and leaving, unsure of where to seek refuge and lacking means of transportation.
The Israeli military issued a call for Palestinian residents to evacuate areas in the north, including Gaza's largest refugee camp, as two brigades of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) encircled Jabalya to prevent Hamas from rebuilding its operational capabilities. Prior to this ground operation warning, airstrikes targeted numerous military sites in the region.
Hamas's military wing, the Al Qassam Brigades, reported engaging in intense clashes with Israeli forces in northern Gaza, leading to a night filled with the sounds of explosions, as described by local residents. Many individuals were observed fleeing towards Gaza City from the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood.
Despite the existence of Al-Mawasi, an Israeli-designated humanitarian zone in the south, some northern residents are hesitant to relocate there due to previous deadly strikes in the area. The sentiment among certain individuals is that they would rather face death at home than endure further hardships elsewhere.
The ongoing conflict in Gaza continues to displace families and instill fear among residents, highlighting the urgent need for a peaceful resolution to prevent further loss of life and displacement.
