The Israeli military has initiated a new series of airstrikes in eastern Lebanon, as reported by the Lebanese news agency on Tuesday. The airstrikes have targeted various areas including Al-Tal Al-Abyad district at the northern entrance of Baalbek, the town of Talia, and the outskirts of Shamstar in Baalbek. Additionally, a bridge in southern Lebanon, specifically in Al-Mahmoudiya near Al-Aishiya in the Jezzine area, has also been hit by the Israeli strikes.
Israel's military confirmed that it had conducted strikes on numerous targets in Lebanon in response to multiple rocket attacks launched by Hezbollah. Hezbollah claimed responsibility for firing rockets into northern Israel, targeting locations such as the Ramat David airbase, Meggido airfield, and the Amos base near the town of Afula in northern Israel.
The escalating tensions between Israel and Hezbollah have led to a cycle of violence, with both sides engaging in military actions. The recent airstrikes in eastern Lebanon mark a continuation of the conflict that has been ongoing for years, with periodic flare-ups resulting in casualties and destruction on both sides.
The situation remains volatile as both Israel and Hezbollah show no signs of backing down, raising concerns about further escalation and the impact on civilian populations in the region. International efforts to mediate and de-escalate the conflict have so far been unsuccessful, leaving the situation precarious and unpredictable.
