The Israeli Prime Minister's Office announced on Monday that the country's military operation in Rafah will persist despite Hamas' ceasefire proposal. The office stated that the War Cabinet unanimously agreed to continue the operation in order to apply military pressure on Hamas.
Responding to Hamas' acceptance of a ceasefire agreement, the Prime Minister's Office mentioned that while the proposal falls short of Israel's requirements, the country will dispatch a delegation to the mediators involved in the negotiations. The mediators in question are Egypt, Qatar, and the United States.
Simultaneously, the Israel Defense Forces confirmed that they are actively engaging in targeted strikes against Hamas terror targets in eastern Rafah, located in the southern Gaza Strip.
