The Israeli military has confirmed the killing of a Hamas militant, identified as Ahmed Fozi Wadia, who was involved in a disturbing incident captured on video. In the video from Oct. 7, Wadia was seen drinking from a bottle of cola in front of two children who had been wounded in a grenade attack that claimed their father's life.
Wadia, described as a commander in a Hamas commando battalion and a member of a paragliding unit, flew into the community of Netiv HaAsara on a paraglider before launching the attack on civilians. The attack on the Taasa family home resulted in the death of Gil Taasa, who sacrificed himself to protect his sons from the grenade. The children were injured in the incident.
The Israeli military conducted an airstrike on a compound in Gaza City where Hamas militants, including Wadia, were operating. The strike resulted in the death of eight militants, including Wadia. The military clarified that the compound was near Al-Ahli hospital, which was not targeted in the operation.
Update on Lufthansa Flights to Tel Aviv
Lufthansa, a German airline, has announced the resumption of flights to Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport starting on Thursday. Flights to Beirut, Lebanon, will remain suspended for all airlines in the Lufthansa Group until Sept. 30. However, flights to Amman, Jordan, and Erbil, Iraq, have already resumed as of Aug. 27.
