The Israeli military has issued evacuation warnings for parts of Lebanon’s Beqaa region as it launches strikes targeting what it says are key Hezbollah financial sites. The Israel Defense Forces Arabic spokesperson shared the notice for residents in three key areas of the Beqaa region: Baalbek, Hermel, and Haret al-Fekani.
The IDF highlighted specific buildings and surrounding structures, which were marked on maps that were posted on the social media platform X. Residents were informed that they are located near Hezbollah facilities and interests that will soon be targeted by the IDF.
Residents were urged to immediately evacuate these buildings and those nearby and move at least 500 meters away for their safety. This warning comes amidst Israel’s unprecedented bombardment of the country, with Israeli strikes having killed more than 1,500 people since Israel ramped up its war against Hezbollah last month, according to the Lebanese government.
