Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson Daniel Hagari has reassured the public that the Israeli military is well-equipped for its planned missions in Gaza, despite recent concerns raised by US President Joe Biden.
During a press briefing on Thursday, Hagari responded to questions regarding the IDF's preparedness for a potential battle in Rafah, a city in southern Gaza, in the absence of US weapons support.
President Biden had warned on Wednesday that the United States would suspend certain weapons deliveries to Israel if it proceeded with its campaign in Rafah.
Hagari emphasized that the IDF possesses the necessary weapons for its upcoming missions, including those in Rafah. He stated, 'The IDF has weapons for the missions it is planning. And also for the missions in Rafah, we have the weapons we require.'
Addressing the concerns raised by the United States, Hagari highlighted the longstanding military aid and support provided by the US to Israel throughout the conflict. He noted that the level of assistance from the US has been unprecedented.
The statement from the IDF spokesperson comes amid escalating tensions in the region and underscores Israel's commitment to maintaining its military capabilities for its operations in Gaza.
