The Israeli military has launched strikes against militants in northern Gaza's Jabalya region, as confirmed by spokesperson Daniel Hagari during a press conference. The strikes have resulted in explosions and plumes of smoke rising above buildings in a neighborhood east of Jabalya refugee camp.
Hagari stated that the Israel Defense Forces initiated a temporary evacuation of the population in the area prior to commencing the operation. Subsequently, IDF troops began an operation targeting militant infrastructure in the Beit Hanoun and Beit Lahia areas in northern Gaza.
According to Hagari, fighter jets have been targeting terrorist sites across Jabalya in the last hour. The IDF also conducted a temporary evacuation process of the Jabalya area towards the center of the strip in preparation for the military operation.
Residents in several areas in northern Gaza were instructed to evacuate through leaflets dropped by Israeli forces on Saturday morning. Overnight airstrikes in the Kasaib neighborhood in Jabalya refugee camp resulted in the deaths of journalist Bahaa Okasha, his wife, and 12-year-old son, as reported by Kamal Adwan Hospital. Additionally, three individuals lost their lives in a separate airstrike in Jabalya.
