Another Israeli hostage has been successfully rescued by the Israel Defense Force and Israel Security Agency. The rescue operation, announced on Tuesday, involved the extraction of Qaid Farhan Alkadi from Gaza, where he had been held captive since the Oct. 7 terrorist attack.
Israeli Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant praised the operation as a testament to the IDF's bravery and determination. Alkadi, a 52-year-old from Rahat, was brought back to his family in Israel following the successful mission.
The rescue effort was carried out by a team of Israeli combatants, including members of the 401st Brigade, 162nd Division, and Shayetet 13. Specialized units such as Yahalom and intelligence operatives from the Israel Security Agency also played crucial roles in the operation.
Alkadi is currently receiving medical treatment in a hospital and is reported to be in stable condition. His family has been informed of his recovery and is being assisted by IDF personnel to reunite with him.
Despite this successful rescue, the threat to Israeli hostages in the Gaza Strip remains significant. As of now, 108 hostages are still being held by terrorists, with 36 confirmed casualties since the Oct. 7 incident.
The IDF remains committed to utilizing all available resources to secure the safe return of all hostages and will continue its efforts to bring them back home to Israel.
