The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office announced on Friday that the Ministerial Committee for National Security Affairs has recommended the government to approve a proposed framework for a hostage exchange deal with Hamas. The decision came after a thorough examination of political, security, and humanitarian aspects, with the understanding that the deal aligns with the war's objectives.
The government is set to convene later today to discuss and potentially approve the proposed agreement.
As per the terms of the deal revealed earlier this week, Hamas is expected to release 33 hostages over a period of six weeks in exchange for the release of hundreds of Palestinians currently imprisoned by Israel.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken expressed his anticipation that the agreement will come into effect starting this Sunday.
