Israeli General Yitzhak Brick revealed that the Israeli Air Force isn’t prepared to properly operate in the event of a multi-front war.
In statements to Haaretz newspaper on Sunday, he said the Israeli air bases would be a strategic target to the enemy and will be shelled by precision missiles carrying hundreds of kilograms of warheads, as well as drones that would be launched from long distances, noting that the air force did not prepare for such attacks and can’t respond to them.
In the past years, Brick has been criticizing the Israeli army and revealing its failures. He focused on the air force bases, saying that the minimum that was available at the bases in terms of human force and the means to ensure sustainability in coming multi-front war is rapidly deteriorating.
Brick said that the Israeli Air Force contracted with the private company, Paz Aviation Services, to supply aviation fuel and fueling services to its warplanes, however, since the drivers of the fuel tanks are soldiers in the reserve forces of the Ground Corps, Brick said there will be no personnel to transport the fuel to the planes.
For years now, no solution has been reached to meet the needs of the ground forces for trucks drivers and the air force demands that drivers remain at Baz Travel during the state of emergency.
He based this assessment on statements made by several high-rank officers in the air force, who considered that the High Command of the Israeli Army and Air Force are detached from the bad field situation and prefer to pretend that everything is under control.
“For the next four years, they will use most of the $9 billion US aid to purchase modern aircrafts, and invest almost nothing in manpower and their readiness to secure the taking off and landing of aircrafts during a possible war,” he noted.
