Israeli forces have detained male medical staff at the besieged Kamal Adwan hospital in northern Gaza, according to the enclave’s health ministry. The incident occurred when Israeli forces entered the hospital and opened fire, causing concern among medical authorities. The health ministry has issued warnings about the hospital's dwindling supplies and urgent need for aid.

The health ministry's latest statement revealed that male medical staff at Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza Strip are being detained by Israeli occupation forces. Additionally, several wounded and ill individuals inside the hospital have also been held, while women have been confined in a room without access to water or food.

The Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Ghebreyesus, expressed alarm at the situation, noting that the WHO has lost contact with the hospital staff, which he described as 'disturbing.' Meanwhile, the United Nations' human rights chief, Volker Türk, characterized the events in northern Gaza as potentially constituting 'crimes against humanity,' labeling it as one of the darkest moments of the Gaza conflict.

Despite attempts to seek clarification from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), no immediate response was received. In a statement, the Israeli military justified its actions by citing intelligence information regarding the presence of terrorists and terrorist infrastructure around Kamal Adwan Hospital.

The unfolding situation at Kamal Adwan Hospital underscores the escalating tensions in Gaza and the challenges faced by medical personnel in providing essential care amidst conflict. The international community continues to monitor the developments closely, with concerns growing over the well-being of both patients and medical staff in the besieged hospital.
