The family of two Israeli children, Ariel and Kfir Bibas, who are still held in Gaza, are cautiously optimistic about the possibility of their loved ones being released as part of a ceasefire and hostage release deal agreed to in Qatar.
In a statement released through the Hostage and Missing Families Forum, the Bibas family expressed their cautious optimism, stating that they have faced disappointments in the past and are waiting for confirmation that their loved ones will be safely returned.
Kfir, the youngest hostage who would turn 2 this month, was taken on October 7 along with his brother Ariel, who is now 5 years old. The family of four, including parents Yarden and Shiri, were among those kidnapped, with Yarden believed to have been separated from the rest of the family.
The family has requested privacy during this sensitive time and urged people to refrain from spreading rumors. They continue to appeal to the Prime Minister for the safe return of all hostages until the last one is home.
The uncertainty surrounding the condition and whereabouts of the children has left the family and the community on edge, hoping for a positive outcome in the ongoing negotiations for their release.
