Recent Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip have led to a significant loss of life and injuries, according to reports from the Health Ministry in Gaza. In the past 24 hours alone, 48 Palestinians have been killed, bringing the total death toll to a staggering 34,097 people.
The Health Ministry also disclosed that since October 7, at least 76,980 individuals have been injured in the ongoing conflict. Tragically, a number of Palestinians remain trapped under rubble and amidst destroyed roads, with emergency response teams facing challenges in reaching them.
Of particular concern is the high number of women and children among the casualties. Palestinian health officials have noted that the vast majority of those killed in Gaza are women and children. As of the latest update on April 20, the Health Ministry provided the following statistics:
- At least 72% of the casualties are women and children
- More than 9,100 women have lost their lives
- More than 14,000 children have perished
It is important to highlight that due to the restricted access of international media to Gaza, the reported numbers cannot be independently verified. The situation in the region remains dire, with innocent civilians bearing the brunt of the violence.
