Israeli Airstrike Kills Hezbollah Leader, Sparks Regional Tensions

An Israeli airstrike on a village in northeast Lebanon resulted in the tragic deaths of 11 individuals. The strike, which occurred early Sunday, destroyed a home in the village of al-Ain. Six bodies were recovered from the rubble, with search efforts ongoing for the remaining five victims. Additionally, the Islamic Risala Scout Association reported that five of its members lost their lives while carrying out their duties, with four individuals hailing from Tayr Debba and one from Kabrikha.

Lebanese Military Urges Calm Amid Escalation

Following the recent escalation with Israel and the killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, Lebanon's military issued a statement calling for calm among the Lebanese populace during this critical period. Concerns have been raised regarding potential sectarian strife and violence due to deep political divisions within the country. The military emphasized the need for unity and vigilance against external efforts to sow discord among the Lebanese people.

Missile Incident in Jordan

Jordan's military reported that a Grad missile launched from Lebanon landed in an open area within Jordanian territory, causing no casualties or damage. The missile is believed to have been aimed at Israel by Hezbollah, following heightened tensions in the region. Jordan, which shares borders with Israel, has maintained a peace treaty with its neighbor since 1994 and has actively worked to prevent cross-border conflicts.

Egyptian President Calls for Cease-Fire

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi expressed grave concern over Israeli military operations in the Palestinian territories and Lebanon, warning that the region is on the brink of further escalation. El-Sissi emphasized the urgent need for an immediate and comprehensive cease-fire in both Gaza and Lebanon to prevent a wider conflict. Egypt, along with the United States and Qatar, has been engaged in mediation efforts between Israel and Hamas to de-escalate tensions and avoid a full-scale regional war.
