Israel Warns Hezbollah Of 'All-Out War' Over Drone Footage

Objects are seen in the sky over Amman after Iran launched drones towards Israel

Israel issued a stern warning to Hezbollah following the release of a 9-minute drone video by the Lebanese militant group. The footage purportedly shows Israeli military and civilian locations in various Israeli cities, raising concerns of escalating tensions in the region.

Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz stated that they are nearing a critical decision to change the rules of engagement with Hezbollah and Lebanon. He emphasized the potential consequences, mentioning the possibility of an 'all-out war' where Hezbollah would face destruction and Lebanon severe repercussions.

The video, filmed in daylight, showcases locations such as Krayot, a densely populated residential area near Haifa, as well as military installations and civilian infrastructure in Israeli cities. Specific sites highlighted include a military complex near Haifa owned by Israeli weapons manufacturer Rafael, Iron Dome batteries, missile storage facilities, and radar sites.

Recent months have seen a surge in cross-border attacks between Hezbollah and Israel, particularly following the Hamas attacks on October 7. The Israeli Defense Forces' military campaign in Gaza further heightened tensions in the region.

Israeli concerns extend beyond immediate security threats, with Katz pointing out the global implications of potential attacks on Haifa. He highlighted the economic significance of the port, operated by international companies from China and India, which Hezbollah has threatened to target.

Despite warnings from the US and its allies against escalating conflicts, tensions have continued to rise. Analysis of the drone video has identified sensitive areas around Haifa, including military installations, the port, and residential neighborhoods.

Experts have identified the drone in the footage as an Iranian-origin model, possibly a Qasaf-2k. The prolonged duration of the drone mission over Haifa, indicated by shadow analysis, suggests meticulous planning and surveillance activities.

The situation remains volatile as both Israel and Hezbollah navigate escalating hostilities, raising concerns about the potential for a significant military confrontation in the region.
