Israel's Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has announced that Israel will be conducting a military campaign against Hezbollah in Lebanon, Syria, and other locations where the militant group is present. The minister emphasized that the campaign will extend to various cities in Lebanon such as Beirut, Baalbek, Tsor, Sidon, and Nabatieh, as well as potentially reaching as far as Damascus.
During a visit to Israel's Northern Command, Gallant discussed the recent killing of a high-ranking Hezbollah missile commander by Israeli forces. The Israel Defense Forces reported that Ali Abed Akhsan Naim, believed to be the deputy commander of Hezbollah's Rocket and Missile Unit, was targeted and killed in an airstrike in southern Lebanon.
The ongoing conflict between Hezbollah and Israel has resulted in deadly cross-border strikes in recent months, leading to the displacement of tens of thousands of Lebanese and Israeli residents from their homes. The situation remains tense as both sides continue to engage in military actions and retaliations.
