Israel carried out strikes on several parts of Lebanon overnight, resulting in casualties and continuing its heaviest bombardment of the country in nearly two decades. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that around 200 Hezbollah targets were struck in Lebanese territory, including infrastructure sites, weapons storage facilities, and observation posts in southern Lebanon.
The IDF stated that a municipality building in Bint Jbeil, southern Lebanon, where Hezbollah militants were operating and storing large quantities of weapons, was precisely struck. The IDF claimed to have killed 15 Hezbollah fighters in the operation. Lebanon's state-run NNA confirmed that two Ethiopian nationals were killed in Israeli strikes on the western coastal district of Tyre.
Additionally, more than a dozen airstrikes were reported on Beirut's southern suburbs, a Hezbollah stronghold. The Israeli military has been targeting this area in recent days. The strikes on Lebanon come after about 25 projectiles and two drones crossed into Israeli territory from Lebanon on Thursday morning, according to the IDF. No injuries were reported from this incident.
The situation remains tense between Israel and Lebanon, with both sides engaging in military actions. The international community is closely monitoring the developments in the region as efforts to de-escalate tensions are being sought.
