Israel's War Cabinet To Discuss Hostage And Ceasefire Negotiations

United Nations Security Council meets on resolution for ceasefire during conflict between Israel and Hamas in New York

Israel's war cabinet is scheduled to convene on Sunday at 9 p.m. local time (2 p.m. ET) to discuss ongoing negotiations regarding hostages and a potential ceasefire deal, as confirmed by an Israeli official.

The meeting of the war cabinet comes in the midst of negotiations that are expected to resume on Tuesday, as indicated by an Egyptian official familiar with the situation. Another Israeli official also mentioned that talks are set to recommence next week.

Despite the ongoing conflict on the ground, efforts are being made to seek a breakthrough in the negotiations. Israel is currently engaged in battle with Hamas throughout the strip, with the militants reportedly launching missiles at Tel Aviv on Sunday for the first time in several months.
