Following an hours-long war cabinet meeting on Sunday night, Israel has yet to decide on how to respond to Iran's recent attack. An Israeli official confirmed that while the cabinet is determined to retaliate, the timing and scope of the response are still under consideration.
The Israeli military has been instructed to develop additional response options in light of the situation. Meanwhile, a senior official from the Biden administration revealed that Israel has communicated its intention not to seek a significant escalation in the conflict with Iran.
The senior administration official stated, 'Israel made clear to us they're not looking for a significant escalation with Iran. They aim to protect and defend themselves rather than escalate tensions further.'
Israeli war cabinet minister Benny Gantz emphasized earlier on Sunday that Israel will hold Iran accountable for its actions in a manner and timeframe that align with Israel's interests.
