Israel's Military Actions In Gaza Raise International Concerns

U.S. Secretary of State stated that Israel has not informed the U.S. of a specific date for a major offensive into the southern Gaza city of Rafah. American and Israeli officials are in contact to ensure the safety of civilians in case of any military operation.

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu announced plans to invade Rafah, but the U.S. has cautioned against a ground operation and demanded a credible plan to protect civilians. Rafah, home to around 1.4 million Palestinians, is facing a humanitarian crisis due to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.

Meanwhile, Australia's Foreign Minister sparked controversy by suggesting the possible recognition of a Palestinian state as a step towards peace in the region. The move was met with mixed reactions, with concerns raised about rewarding Hamas for past attacks.

In a tragic incident, an Israeli airstrike in central Gaza claimed the lives of 11 people, including women and children. The strike occurred amidst ongoing tensions and airstrikes in the region.

Family members of hostages held by Hamas met with U.S. Vice President to seek their release and push for a temporary cease-fire in Gaza. The U.S. administration reiterated its commitment to reuniting hostages with their families.
