Israel has issued fresh evacuation orders in the southern city of Rafah in Gaza as it gears up to expand its military operation. The move comes as Israeli forces advance into a northern Gaza area where Hamas has reportedly regrouped.

Intensifying clashes between Israeli troops and Palestinian militants on the outskirts of Rafah have led to the closure of vital aid crossings, prompting over 110,000 individuals to flee northwards. Despite the escalation, Israel's incursion into Rafah falls short of a full-scale invasion initially planned.

Warnings from the United Nations and humanitarian agencies have highlighted the potential catastrophic impact of an Israeli offensive on Rafah, a city bordering Egypt and serving as a key aid entry point. With more than 1.4 million Palestinians seeking refuge in Rafah, concerns over civilian casualties and disrupted humanitarian operations loom large.

Israeli military spokesperson has urged residents in Jabaliya and Beit Lahiya cities, along with surrounding areas, to evacuate to shelters in western Gaza City due to the perilous combat situation. The military has signaled its intent to strike with significant force in the region.

Meanwhile, heavy fighting has erupted in northern Gaza, where Hamas has reportedly regrouped despite previous Israeli offensives. Recent battles in the Zeitoun area on the outskirts of Gaza City mark a renewed focus on the northern part of the territory, which was the initial target of the ground offensive.

Tragically, at least 19 individuals, including women and children, lost their lives in overnight strikes in Central Gaza. The strikes hit towns like Zawaida, Maghazi, and Deir al Balah, resulting in a devastating toll on civilians.

According to the Gaza Health Ministry, the ongoing Israeli bombardment and ground offensives have claimed the lives of over 34,800 Palestinians, predominantly women and children. The widespread destruction has displaced approximately 80% of Gaza's population, underscoring the humanitarian crisis unfolding in the region.
