Israel recently coordinated the medical evacuation of 34 patients from Gaza, as reported by Israel’s Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT). The patients, accompanied by their companions, were transported through the Kerem Shalom and Allenby Bridge crossings to receive medical treatment in Jordan and the United States.
Additionally, eight Palestinian residents with British citizenship were also allowed to leave Gaza at the request of the United Kingdom, according to COGAT.
COGAT highlighted that Israel has been actively involved in facilitating such humanitarian efforts, with 19 groups totaling 862 patients and their companions being permitted to depart through the Kerem Shalom crossing in recent months. These individuals have been traveling to countries like Jordan, Romania, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States for medical care.
Israel expressed gratitude towards Jordan and the US for their significant roles in spearheading this crucial humanitarian operation.
