Israel's head of national Security Council has indicated that the country is prepared for an extended period of conflict in Gaza in order to achieve the goal of dismantling Hamas.

In a recent radio interview on Reshet bet, Tzachi Hanegbi revealed that the initial plans presented to the cabinet had foreseen a prolonged battle. He emphasized that the current military campaign is strategically designed to continue until 2024, with the expectation of another seven months of fighting to further weaken Hamas and Islamic Jihad.

Hanegbi stressed the importance of patience and resilience, highlighting the historical endurance of the Israeli nation over centuries. He cautioned against setting arbitrary deadlines or rushing the process, emphasizing the need for steadfastness in pursuing the objective.

The ongoing conflict in Gaza has been characterized by escalating tensions and violence, with both sides engaged in intense military operations. Israel's determination to dismantle Hamas's military and governmental infrastructure underscores the seriousness of its objectives in the region.

As the conflict enters its fifth month in 2024, the Israeli government remains committed to its strategic goals and is prepared for a protracted period of fighting to achieve the desired outcomes. The resilience and perseverance of the Israeli people are seen as crucial factors in navigating the challenges posed by the conflict and ensuring the security of the nation.
