Israel intensified its airstrikes in Lebanon on Saturday, targeting Beirut's southern suburbs with 12 airstrikes and hitting a Palestinian refugee camp in northern Lebanon for the first time. The attack on the Beddawi refugee camp near Tripoli resulted in the tragic deaths of a Hamas official, his wife, and two young daughters.
Israeli forces have been conducting targeted ground raids against Hezbollah infrastructure in southern Lebanon, destroying missiles, launchpads, watchtowers, and weapons storage facilities. Troops also dismantled tunnel shafts used by Hezbollah near the Israeli border.
Since the conflict escalated in late September, over 1,400 Lebanese, including Hezbollah fighters and civilians, have lost their lives, and around 1.2 million people have been displaced from their homes. Hundreds of thousands have fled to Syria to escape the violence.
In Gaza, Israeli airstrikes in northern and central areas have claimed the lives of at least nine people, including two children. The strikes targeted civilian areas, leading to casualties and injuries. The Israeli military has urged Palestinians to evacuate certain regions in Gaza, citing strategic concerns.
Throughout the nearly year-long conflict, approximately 42,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
