Arnon Cohen, 54, and others from Kibbutz Nahal Oz set up a tent in Hostages Square to honor those killed and kidnapped on October 7, 2023. Notably, Omri Miran and Tsahi Idan remain in Gaza after being taken from their Kibbutz.
Cohen acknowledged the mixed emotions, stating that while they are happy about the deal, there is anxiety about the hostages' well-being and the uncertainty of their return. He emphasized the collective desire for the safe return of all hostages.
Shahar Biran, 53, shared her uncertainty about the longevity of the ceasefire deal with Hamas, expressing a cautious optimism for the initial progress made. She highlighted the underlying fear that the agreement might not ensure the safe return of all hostages.
Roni Litvak, another Nahal Oz native, echoed the sentiment that the current situation does not warrant celebration. While acknowledging the anticipation surrounding the announcement, she emphasized the long road ahead to secure the release of all hostages.
