Jake Paul has revealed Israel Adesanya told him to not get "wrapped up" in his upcoming boxing clash with Anderson Silva.
The YouTube star will look to navigate the toughest examination of his boxing credentials this weekend when he takes on UFC legend Silva tomorrow night. The Brazilian has a similar level of experience to Paul in the boxing ring but has picked up sizeable scalps including the likes of Tito Ortiz and former world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
Paul has started a feud with several UFC fighters during his tenure in the boxing ring including Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal but has grown into a friendship with current 185lb champion Adesanya. And Paul has revealed 'Style Bender' advised him not to fall into Silva's traps.
"He said don't get wrapped up in the spider web," Paul revealed to The Schmo when asked if he had spoken to Adesanya ahead of the clash. "I'm not going to get wrapped up in the spider web, I'm not going to get wrapped up because I am a broom. Guess what brooms do? They take down the spider webs. I'm a f***ing room, my brother's [Logan] a table and I'm a broom."
Adesanya defeated Silva in 2019 when he outpointed the Brazilian who was coming to the end of his tenure in the sport. His former rival has since had much more success in the squared circle picking up three consecutive wins since making the switch.
Paul has won his five professional boxing fights to date including two victories over former UFC champion Tyron Woodley and a win over Ben Askren. A victory in his latest outing could set up a clash with another former UFC star in Nate Diaz, or could see him rekindle his rivalry with Tommy Fury.

Adesanya recently spend time with the YouTube star to preview the fight and declared that Silva is "from the streets" in a fierce warning of the former champion's skills. "Bro [Paul] you gotta be careful," he said to the American during his recent BS with Jake Paul episode. "I think Logan [Paul] DMed me a while ago and he was gonna fight Silva and he kind of asked me my opinion.
"And I was like, 'If you take this fight, take it seriously 'cause he is no joke.' Silva is a mastermind man! When you meet him... he is a friendly guy. He's cool, he's a humble dude... But when it comes to war, he is a savage. He is from the streets bro!"
