Israel Accused Of Deadly Strike In Southern Beirut

Israel strikes Gaza

The Iranian embassy in Lebanon has strongly condemned Israel for a deadly strike in southern Beirut that resulted in the destruction of at least one residential building. The embassy accused Israel of displaying 'madness and arrogance' by targeting residential areas in the southern suburbs of Beirut, leading to the martyrdom and injury of numerous individuals, including children and women.

The Israeli military has claimed that the strike targeted senior Hezbollah military figure Ibrahim Aqil, along with other top operatives and leaders in Hezbollah's elite Radwan unit. However, Hezbollah has not yet responded to Israel's claim regarding the attack.

Following the strike, one multi-story residential building in the Jamous area of Beirut's southern suburbs collapsed, as reported by Lebanon's Civil Defense. Initially, there were reports of two collapsed buildings, but the Civil Defense later revised the information to confirm one collapsed building.

The incident has escalated tensions in the region, with Iran's embassy in Lebanon denouncing the attack as a 'terrorist' crime and accusing Israel of exceeding all boundaries with its actions. The strike has raised concerns about the impact on civilians, particularly women and children, who were among the casualties of the attack.

As the situation unfolds, there is growing unease in the region, with calls for restraint and de-escalation to prevent further violence and loss of life. The international community is closely monitoring the developments in southern Beirut and the implications of the strike on regional stability.
