The Islam Makhachev vs Arman Tsarukyan rematch has been officially confirmed and will headlined UFC 311 on January 18. The UFC Bantamweight Title is also on the line in the co-main event, as Merab Dvalishvili aims to make a successful first defence against Umar Nurmagomedov.
Makhachev vs Tsarukyan Rematch Headlines UFC 311
The UFC have officially confirmed that Islam Makhachev vs Arman Tsarukyan rematch will headline UFC 311 on January 18 at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.
Not only does this compelling rematch headline UFC 311, but there is also another fight for UFC gold in the co-main event.
Islam Makhachev is of course the reigning UFC Lightweight Champion, and arguably the best pound-for-pound fighter in the UFC. Early in 2025, he aims to defend his 155-pound crown for the fourth time against a man he has beaten previously.
In saying that, the first Makhachev vs Tsarukyan fight was extremely close, with Makhachev getting the nod via decision back in April 2019. Both fighters have come on leaps and bounds since then, with Tsarukyan himself beating former champion Charles Oliveira last time out to earn his shot at UFC golf.
Islam Makhachev’s next fight against Tsarukyan could arguably be his toughest title defence yet. He has of course beaten Alexander Volkanovski twice and Dustin Poirier once in his three defences, but Arman Tsarukyan provides a whole new test for the p4p UFC superstar.
UFC President Dana White is serving up a treat for fans with the first pay-per-view event of 2025. What a way to start the new year with a title fight doubled header in California!

Merab Dvalishvili And Umar Nurmagomedov Clash For UFC Bantamweight Title In UFC 311 Co-Main Event
Although the Makhachev vs Tsarukyan rematch is headlining UFC 311, the co-main event is a quite remarkable fight too in itself. The UFC Bantamweight Title is on the line in the UFC 311 co-main event, as the champion Merab Dvalishvili defends his 135-pound crown against Umar Nurmagomedov.
Dvalishvili became champion last time out in beating Sean O’Malley at UFC 306, and now aims to defend his belt for the vert first time against Umar Nurmagomedov. That name might ring a bell to MMA fans, with Umar the cousin of former UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, and the older brother of Bellator star Usman Nurmagomedov.
This is a cracking fight in the co-main event at UFC 311, and is arguably a main event in itself on another pay-per-view show.
Both Makhachev and Dvalishvili will likely go into their respective UFC 311 fights as the favourites with the best UFC betting sites in the UK. This comes as no surprise given they are both the reigning champions and currently hold the UFC Title in their respective weight class.
