Islam Makhachev Stats In MMA

Islam Makhachev is one of the biggest names today in the entire UFC. Not only is Makhachev the UFC Lightweight Champion, but he is also widely regarded as the best pound-for-pound UFC fighter on the planet.

The Dagestan fighter has been the king of the 155-pound UFC division since October 2022, and looks almost unbeatable right now.

Islam Makhachev’s record of 27-1 in MMA makes the 33-year-old is one of the standout fighters of the 21st century without any doubt. Not only has Makhachev risen to the top of the UFC lightweight division, but he has also cemented himself as one of the best fighters on planet earth from any weight category.

Prior to signing with the UFC, Islam Makhachev had 11 fights, winning each and every one of them. He made his MMA debut in August 2010, fighting 11 times before signing with the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Of these 11 pre-UFC victories, five came via submission, two came via knockout meaning the remaining four were decision wins. The Islam Makhachev stats in MMA evidently got him signed to the UFC, where he has further asserted himself as a pound-for-pound great and dominant force at 155-pounds.

Islam Makhachev UFC Stats

Islam Makhachev has competed in the UFC ever since he made his debut back in May 2015. After notching up a 11-0 record in other MMA organisations, the 33-year-old made his UFC debut on a pay-per-view card at UFC 187.

UFC President Dana White knew he had a future star on his hands, hence why he had Makhachev fighting on PPVs straight away. Makhachev won his UFC debut, but was brought right back down to earth in his second UFC fight.

The sole defeat on Islam Makhachev’s record came in his second UFC fight, where the Russian mauler was knockout out in Round 1 at UFC 192 back in October 2015. This loss was a totally freak and unexpected, but since then Makhachev has bounced back and looked unbeatable.

Islam Makhachev’s stats in the UFC are quite incredible. He has had a total of 17 fights in the UFC, winning 16 of them and losing just one as previously mentioned.

Of these 16 victories, 11 of them have come inside the scheduled distance with five being decision victories. These 11 UFC finishes have come both via knockout and submission, with eight submissions and three knockouts to be precise.

It is evident that the Islam Makhachev stats prove he is one of the best fighters on the UFC roster today. The scary thing is that he isn’t anywhere near done. These stats and records could well improve going forward, if the 33-year-old steps up to welterweight and wins a UFC Title in a second weight class.
