The newest iOS upgrade for Apple users brings with it some updated features, like the new Pride Celebration wallpaper, as well as fixing multiple bugs that may have been recently exploited.
While it is important that all iPhone users install the update as soon as they can to ensure the safety of their devices, it does appear some who have already added iOS 16.5 to their devices are now suffering from faster battery drain.
Luckily, though, the battery life issue should be simple to fix for anyone experiencing the problem.

A search on social media has shown plenty of Apple users are having battery issues since updating their device, with one user posting: "I thought it was just on my iPhone. iOS 16.5 battery drainage is even worse."
And another asked: "Any idea why iOS 16.5 is absolutely decimating the battery on my iPhone 12 Pro? It seems much much worse than it did on 16.4.1 - I’d rarely get to 50 per cent at the end of the day."
Given the importance of battery life in phones, it can be understood why many people would be worried about installing iOS 16.5, however, it is not an update to ignore.
It is also fixable, as it turns out if you just put up with it for a few days then the device should sort itself out. This is because iPhones sometimes need to re-index data when Apple pushes out major iOS updates.
This all happens in the background and can subsequently lead to battery life dropping.
Unlike rivals, Apple insists these complicated processes are carried out on the phone because it does not want the privacy implications associated with sending the data to the cloud.
The whole process can take a couple of days and once completed the iPhone should return to normal strength.
Of course, if there is a bug in iOS 16.5 that’s actually causing battery drain then expect Apple to act fast and push out a further upgrade in the coming weeks.
