Is Trey McNutt postponing his commitment good news for Ohio State football?

One of the top 2025 Ohio prospects is safety Trey McNutt, who was supposed to make his commitment on August 3 with Ohio State, Oregon, Texas A&M, Florida and USC as his finalists.

Multiple reports came out on Friday that the 6-foot, 180-pound star will not make his choice in a few weeks. The nation’s No. 19 overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings seemed to be favoring the Ducks, but a recent wave of commitments for them clearly has McNutt questioning if that is the place for him.

This can only be viewed as a positive development for the Buckeyes, as they now have more time to recruit the legacy.

Without a timeframe for a commitment, it’s hard to guess what McNutt is thinking. Hopefully he comes to his senses and eventually suits up for the Scarlet and Gray.
