With a 44-point game against a solid Charlotte Hornets squad on the road just 48 hours removed from handing the mighty Brooklyn Nets a 126 – 120 loss via a 54-point outing for All-Star forward Jayson Tatum, people are asking if the St. Louis native has finally crossed the threshold into the elite of the elite in the NBA: players in the running to win league Most Valuable Player (MVP).
