Is the Brummell Blazer the Only Motorcycle Jacket You’ll Ever Need?

Let’s be real: motorcycle gear isn’t just about staying safe, it’s about showing off your style, your character, and essentially the kind of rider you are. And nowhere is this more obvious than in the retro scene. Folks who rock scramblers and cafe racers don’t usually settle for plain old leather or textile jackets; they’re curating a look and making a statement.

You know, vintage-style leather jackets, sleek blazers, rugged boots—apparel that looks like it belongs several decades in the past. And while all this retro gear may look ultra stylish, that doesn’t mean it’s lacking when it comes to safety.

Today’s gear is simply built differently. Advancements in technology and materials science have brought new materials to the scene—stuff that’s lighter, more comfy, all while being just as, if not even more protective than the stuff from two decades ago. As such, riders can rock old-school looks without skimping on safety and protection. And the best part is that it can be pretty hard to tell a functional motorcycle jacket apart from a simple dress jacket.

The perfect example of this just has to be Brummelll’s Blazer. At first glance, it looks like something you’d wear to a fancy dinner or a business meeting. But beneath the surface lies full-fledged motorcycle protection. It’s certified under EN17092 safety standards, meaning it offers just as much abrasion and impact protection as some jackets from big name brands.

So yeah, this is a jacket you can wear on your commute to work, to your best friend’s wedding, and even to the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride. Heck, I think it could be the only jacket you’d really ever need.

Take note, though—I’ve never seen, let alone worn this jacket, and everything I’m saying just comes from what I’ve seen in pictures and read on Brummell’s press release. So if anyone from Brummell’s reading this, I’d love to get my hands on your Blazer (wink, wink). Hopefully you could find a way to send it over to the Philippines.

With all that being said, it seems that Brummell isn’t slowing down anytime soon. It recently appointed former Akrapovič CEO Uroš Rosa into its advisory board. And the brand is also expanding its vision further into a full-blown Luxury Line. It’ll surely be interesting to see where Brummell goes moving forward.

Clearly, this type of this gear is a game-changer, not just for retro aficionados, but for riders in general. Thanks to jackets like these, you won’t need to stuff another jacket into your backpack for fancier occasions; you can just ride to your engagement dressed and ready to roll—literally, too. But no, let’s hope you won’t have to.
