Jennifer Coolidge-mania touched down at Diesel’s show in Milan this week in the most appropriately unhinged way.
For her fashion week debut Coolidge’s zany camp self posed in front of creative director Glenn Martens’ avalanche of 200,000 Durex condoms, with the sculpture being created to “promote a culture of safe sex and sex positivity”. The 61-year-old did her signature chaotic pouty shoulder shake and “wow” catchphrase to an adoring posse of photographers while dressed head-to-toe in the brand.
The catch? It wasn’t actually Coolidge but drag queen Alexis Stone cosplaying as the actress. Donning a latex silver denim jacket, cargo pants and the infamous D applique logo turtle neck, the SFX Coolidge was even spotted bossing around Haley Richardson, who played Coolidge’s assistant Portia in The White Lotus..
It’s not the first time that Stone, real name Elliot Joseph Rentz, has pulled off such a stunt. The London-based drag queen and pro “transformer” has transformed into over 250 celebrities (including Madonna, Cher and even the Pop) and has even sat on the FROW at Balenciaga show’s New York Stock Exchange show as country superstar Dolly Parton and Balenciaga’s 2022 Haute Couture show as Jocelyn Wildenstein.
After becoming this generation’s comeback queen for her Golden Globe and Emmy award winning role as Tanya in The White Lotus, let’s use this moment to manifest that the real Coolidge will set her sights next on the fashion week scene.
