Word on the street is that Taylor Swift might be putting her friendship with Blake Lively on ice, and it’s all thanks to some major drama surrounding It Ends With Us.
Here’s the lowdown: Tay-Tay’s apparently not too chuffed about being dragged into the legal mess between Blake and her co-star Justin Baldoni. The whole thing’s turned into a straight up circus, with Baldoni serving Blake and her hubby Ryan Reynolds with a whopping $400 million lawsuit.
The drama escalated when Baldoni claimed Swift was used as an “intimidation tactic” during a contentious meeting.
“For the time being she is taking a step back from Blake because she doesn’t want to get tangled in this more than she already has – which is far more than she ever needed to be,” an insider told Daily Mail.
The crux of the drama? Baldoni alleges Swift’s presence at a meeting intended to go over Lively’s rewrites of the movie’s script made him feel like he “needed to comply with Blake’s direction for the script”.
Adding fuel to the fire, Lively’s text messages to Baldoni comparing herself to Game of Thrones‘ Khaleesi — referring to Reynolds and Swift as her “dragons” — reportedly didn’t sit well with the pop star. The insider said that this move was seen as “uncool and unnecessary” by Swift’s camp. LMAO imagine being called uncool by Taylor Swift.
“Taylor shouldn’t even be involved in this at all,” the source dished. “She was only going over to visit Blake and Ryan with the understanding that the meeting would be over.”
Apparently Taylor felt like she “was referred to as some kind of pet or possession”.
Despite the current tension, it’s worth noting that Swift and Lively have been close friends for a decade. They were last spotted together in October on a double date with their respective partners in Manhattan.
A second source suggested Swift is treading carefully: “Taylor has politely backed away from it all. She is conscious of her own image and hates that she was even mentioned.”
While some might see this as the beginning of the end, others, like Deuxmoi, are suggesting the friendship remains rock solid. Their sources claim Swift and Lively are “still as close as ever”.
