Is Taylor Swift headlining Glastonbury in 2024? Singer’s new tour clashes with Worthy Farm

Taylor Swift recently announced international tour dates for 2024, including six London performances. An additional London date was added to the singer’s schedule this week after huge demand for tickets.

However, additional dates added since her original announcement mean that the singer will now no longer be able to perform at Glastonbury 2024.

There has been several details fuelling speculation amongst Swift fans that their favourite singer might be planning to wow the crowds at the festival next year.

For starters, according to Emily Eavis of Glastonbury, the festival in 2024 will have two female headliners, and one of them is already booked.

In addition, up until recently the singer and songwriter had kept June 23 and 24 free, leading many fans to suspect that she would show up to headline. However, Swift will now be playing at Dublin's Aviva Stadium on all three days of Glastonbury festival next year.

Has she performed at Glastonbury before?

Swift was to play Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage in the summer of 2020 as part of her Lover Fest tour. However, the event was cancelled owing to the coronavirus pandemic, along with Swift's other engagements like her headline performance at Hyde Park British Summertime. She had been scheduled to perform in the Legends slot at Glastonbury with Paul McCartney and Diana Ross but the festival was cancelled.

She is thought to have received an invitation to join the line-up in 2022 but “politely declined” since “the timing isn't right”.

Over the past few years Swift has been working on the re-recording of her first five albums – she re-released Fearless and Red last year.

Additionally, she put out two lockdown albums, Folklore and Evermore, the former of which won album of the year at the Grammy Awards in 2021.
